Dear Members, Friends, and frequent Guests of the Swiss Club Cairo
It’s this time of the year when homes smell of cookies; everyone is busy shopping for “that” special gift for the loved ones; we’re dusting and polishing the tree ornaments and considering buying a few new ones ...Sounds familiar to you? Yes – it’s Christmas time again and we’re all extremely busy, right? Whether abroad or at home this time of the year is hectic and seems to be rushing by.
But … are we too busy to spend a thought on those who are less fortunate? Those who for no fault of theirs are in dire economic situations? Those who are sick, homeless and don’t know where to get the next meal for their kids? We truly hope that such is not the case.
Let’s live the spirit of the Gospel, take care of our neighbors and not only open our wallets but equally important let’s open our minds and hearts. Reach out to those in need and let them know that they are not alone. Especially in these hard and tumultuous times, we should all stand united as human beings irrespective of one’s color or faith and fill the word “compassion” with honest feelings and consequent meaningful actions.
With our best wishes for a Merry Christmas – may this blessed season be full of joy and serenity for everyone!
